
Hanna Raszewska-Kursa
A dance researcher, critic and freelancer, she graduated in Polish from the University of Warsaw (2006) and completed Postgraduate Studies in Dance Theory at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music (2011). In 2011, she also participated in advanced choreological workshops at the Institute of Choreology in Poznań, led by prof. dr hab. Roderyk Lange and mgr Urszula Loba-Wilgocka. In 2016, she enrolled in a PhD programme at the Institute of Polish Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
A lecturer of dance and 20th/21st century dance history, she has published critical papers, journalistic articles, reviews, reports, interviews (among others at taniecPolska.pl., "nietak!t. Inne strony teatru," and teatralny.pl), as well as articles in monographs and journals (including regular publications in "Studia Choreologica" since 2011). In 2014, the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music Publishing House published her edited collection titled Tańcząc piórem. Nauka w służbie Terpsychory (Dancing with a Pen: Science in Terpsichore’s Service). In 2015, the Body/Mind Foundation published her Warszawska Scena Tańca 2007–2015. Dance and Family (The Warsaw Dance Scene 2007-2015: Danec and Family; concept: Edyta Kozak, Hanna Raszewska, text: Hanna Raszewska). As part of a scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, she wrote the book Teoria tańca w polskiej praktyce (Dance Theory in Polish Practice), which will be published in 2018 by Universitas. This year will also see the publication of her edited collection Taniec w Warszawie – społeczeństwo, edukacja, kultura. Wydawnictwo pokonferencyjne Centrum Sztuki Tańca w Warszawie 2018 (Dance in Warsaw: Society, Education, Culture: Conference Proceedings of the Centre for Dance Art in Warsaw2018).
A member of the Polish Choreological Forum, the Open Forum of Dance Art Communities, the Substantive Committee for Social Dialogue on Dance in Warsaw, and the International Council of Kinetography Laban. She is also the co-founder of the Warsaw section of the International Dance Council CI-Varsovie, and the founder and leader of the Warsaw Kinetographic Studio.
