Kids Dance Platform Program

The Kids Dance Platform will take place on 30–31 August 2019 in the Miniatura City Theatre
in Gdańsk
.

The programme encompasses presentations of performances, a panel discussion and accompanying events. This will be the first Kids Dance Platform to be held as a part of the Polish Dance Platform.

30 August | Friday

16:00 – 19:00 – panel discussion: Zoom in on Dance for Young Audiences
Small Stage

Performances presented in during the Kids Dance Platform will be the point of departure for a discussion about the art of dance, providing at the same time a wider perspective on the dynamically developing field of the art of dance for children. During the discussion the speakers will outline the factors that influence the way contemporary dance performances for children are created. The discussion will also be an attempt to answer the following questions: how to explain both the content and the form of dance art to young audiences; how to reach the youngest audience via chosen artistic strategies and how the youngest audience’s participation in the performance influences the dynamics of artistic changes in the dance field in general.
